Ambroxal, Guaiphenesin & Terbutaline Cough Syrup

This composition offers synergistic action it works by decreasing the stickiness of airway secretions and helps in the removal of the viscous mucous from the airways
Also, it relaxes and widens the airway passage
  • Emphysema
  • Bronchitis
  • In obstructive airway disease

Ambroxal hydrochloride-
Ambroxal hydrochloride is the secretolytic agent which helps to neutralize the viscous mucous or ease in breathing and it is also used to treat respiratory diseases

Guaiphenesin-
Guaiphenesin is mainly used to reduce cough and congestion. it provides relief against cough, congestion and other breathing illness Terbutaline sulphate-
It is bronchodilator and have stimulating affect on the beta 2 receptors. it mainly acts on the beta 2 receptors on the lungs that by it is called selective beta agonist

Mechanism of Action:

Ambroxal:
Nitric oxide causes troubles in airways function and causes inflammation by activating guanylate cyclase so, Ambroxal inhibit activation of guanylate cyclase and suppresses excessive mucous production and reduces the viscosity of the sputum, mediated the release of secretions of bronchioles.

Guaiphenesin acts by enhancing the expulsion of the phlegm and bronchial secretions by reducing the adhesiveness and surface tension of the sputum or secretions to the wall. Terbutaline sulphate acts on the beta 2 receptors and causes activation of the adenylate cyclase which aids in the conversion of ATP to cAMP which accumulates there so leads to relaxation of the smooth muscles.

Pharmacokinetics:

Ambroxal Hydrochloride:
• It is absorbed orally
• It is 90% bound to serum proteins

Guaiphenesin:
• It is absorbed by oral route
• It is metabolized by oxidation and demethylation
• It is excreted via urine

Terbutaline sulphate:
• It is absorbed subcutaneously
• It is excreted via urine
  • Nervousness
  • Headache
  • Drowsiness
  • Dizziness
  • Cenobamate
  • Haloperidol
  • Ritonavir
  • Tucatinib
