Alpha Amylase-
It is the digestive enzyme present abundantly in saliva. this enzyme works best in the alkaline pH and it is required for the digestion of the starch in the mouth.The enzyme is stimulated by the gastric acid present in the stomach. salivary digestion continuous up till then when acid in the stomach completely penetrates the food.

Papain-
Papain is the proteolytic enzyme. it helps in the breakdown of the larger proteins into smaller one and is extracted from the papaya plant

Mechanism of Action:

Alpha amylase works by causing hydrolysis of the glycosidic bond by acid hydrolysis
Papain mainly works by attacking the carbonyl carbon of the peptide chain at the site of amino acid group, this process continuous till when the whole peptide chain gets broken.
